I KNOW, ugh, that's why I was so torn.

But screw it, I'm going to try and get one from carmax with their extended warranty, so what ever. I had one on my MKV and they paid for everything except regular maintenance. The VW dealer would get paid to do the work from the warranty company so they looked for shit that was broken just so they could get paid to fix it.
Whoa. Hold the phone. I've only been looking at VW and Audi dealers since I wanted a factory CPO (my VW CPO covered a new long block and DMF on my MKV). If CarMax really covered all that and it wasn't a headache, I may have to include them in my searches.

It's an additional cost. I think I paid $2k for 4 year/100k warranty but it covered everything I applied for it, over $2500 in repairs. Shoot, they even replaced torn cv boots which is usually a "wear and tear" item

Maybe, but you still can't deny the water pump issue and the intake flapper issue and having to replace the whole fucking manifold where as on the FSI you just need the flapper motor.

If I was in the market, it'd be a tough choice between a Mk6R vs PP 6MT Mk7 GTI. The Mk7 is good, really good.

Quick poll to my OT brethren...

I'm going to list some pros/cons of the 3.2 VR6 compared to the 2.0T. Help me add to the list and give me your thoughts. I have a friend looking to sell an Audi A3 3.2 Quattro that's in excellent condition and it's a platform that I've always been interested in.

Pros: Sound / NA linear powerband / No turbo related maintenance or failures / Did I mention the sound?

Cons: Gas mileage / Slower / Less mod support
