Hi guys new member and big vw fan
This is going to be my golfmk5 build ..also own a Mk6 Golf and a Vw Tiguan but always loved the mk5 was planning on buying a R32 but mpgs ect are way too expensive so have decided to buy a 2.0 GT TDI and turn it into a R32 replica ����


Bought the car standard GT spec and is Reflex silver

Mods

First set of mods for now... Set of xenon bulbs..R32 rear tail lights.. GTI Rear Bumper..GTI front bumper with R32 look painted grille. Painted front lip..Gloss black lower grilles... 18 Audi wheels painted Grey...R32 Flat bottom steering wheel..Piano black interior trim ...

Update
Last week my turbocharger decided to fail on me big time , Engine is 2.0 tdi ( BKD) and is a common on these lumps but the car is all well again now.. luckily I have a very good mechanic friend :biggrin:

Diagnosed turbo shaft failure resulting in broken fins :eyebulge: but car now runs better than ever now after putting on new turbo,intercooler,egr delete kit, so one is happy :happyanim:

Also whilst i was at it i upgraded my interior with a new genuine RCD 510 touchscreen (goes very well with my gloss black trim) along with a LED interior kit and a valet:smile::

Thanks buddy i do love the impovement makes it look like a golf now aha.... do you not get the 2.0 tdi over in the states?

Also noticed you drive a cw GTI ( awesome by the way ). Any pics as I'm painting mine white next week

I'm also a fan of the reflex silver but I'm seriously thinking about going white??
Not sure what to do yet but I've just bought an R32 kit for it and am thinking white & black?
Any suggestions from fellow mk5'ers would be much appreciated :biggrin:

Transformation looks great, you're definitely starting off with a bang. Are you keeping the GTI bumpers or do you plan to swap to R32 parts eventually?

There's a thread somewhere with pictures of white MkV's, Official Candy White something or other. I've got a ton of pics of my own white GTI in my build thread too.

Definately want to transform into R32.. would have a real one but insurance is crazy where i live haha. I've just got a full kit for it apart from the r32 front so might just stick with the gti front and get the ed30 lip? Just bought silver r32 wheels so might just stick with reflex silver for now. But will defo go white one day haha.

Hey guys thanks for your kind comments ? quick update of what I've been up to with my mk5 recently..

After all engine work has been finished I've decided to definately paint the car white ? I've just finished painting my R32 boot and fitted it to give a sneak look of what it's going to look like . The colour I've chosen is frozen white which is alot whiter than the standard vw candy white just need to finish it off now and paint up the r32 skirts ect. And As you can see I've got some nice and shiny vmr wheels on it ?

update

Quick update with my progress. Ive stripped the car down and have painted inside the doors and body ect in my colour of choice ( Frozen white ) I used a Base coat first which was audi ibiz white and it litreally looked yellow against the ford frozen. Also I've come up with a wild idea to paint the inside of the top door frames gloss black with some tints I think it'll look good and I like to be different aha., all is left now is to paint the exterior and find myself an R32 rear bumper...here's a few pics of before and after ( ignore over spray on door speakers as I'm upgrading them too:thumbsup:
