Sure there is, there just isn't anyone smart/brave enough to actually submit to a test. The cynics out there might assert these modders are afraid to be shown their mod doesn't do anything (other than quiet the little buzz box) but I've remained open to the possibilities. 'Still am.
Not even half of the physics of a pressurized contained filling and emptying has anything to do with volume. The size of any inlet/outlets and the pressure differences on either side are far greater factors. No one has even done a volumetric comparison to illustrate just how much smaller the A3 pipe is to fill than the GTI.
Call me an idiot if you like because I'm content so far with you A3-pipers just feeling good about getting your hands dirty for once. But until one of you starts backing up your claims, you're just as noisy as the stock noisemaker box. Who's the bigger idiot; the guy willing to ask for proof that something works or the lemmings paying twice as much for some part they read about on the Internet that "improves throttle response" with no actual proof?
"The pipe has to fill up..." Boost is a parallel process. We're not talking about serial events that lead to acceleration only one after another. Have you ever seen a boost gauge? Do you understand what it's indicating? I'll leave the ricer comment alone because if your answers are yes and (honestly) no, then we've got a conflict. Most kiddies get their boost gauge for show points and to impress their friends. You may have forgotten I was one of the loud voices naming the Forge spacer what it really is.
