almost 100k on the clock
So did some work, mostly maintenance, that was postponed for some time now, although i did have the parts needed, lol. It is just that I want to do some things by myself I guess.
Makes my OCD feel happy.
Temporary wheels are not so bad after all
So, first I bought this
Passenger door would lock and unlock depending on weather, luck, and temper I guess, so I went for original and new parts, no china parts, not used parts, and once I show you what it takes to replace it, I am sure you would do the same, LoL
Grab a coffee, and go to the passenger side if you are about to do this.
Remove the plastic cover to give access to side bolts
Behind the oem round sticker is this bolt that you need to undo, not fully
In order to remove this (while pulling the door handle as you unbolt)
Then you remove the hinge and you can also remove the door handle
You also unbolt the T20 torx screw behind the door handle.
Then, time to take the door cover off
Remove all the bolts around the door card, just note which one goes where
also these
Remove the door card (easier with two people, I did it on my own)
And you are left with this
Like a Car X Ray, LoL
Then, you remove this little o-ring and out comes the weird metal assembly
You then have to remove this plastic white cover to gain access to the lock
So dirty
Gave it a quick clean
Old and dirty lock
Take these two bolts out, to remove the lock assembly (attention these are not torx screws)
Remove it from the metal tab of the door, and then disconnect the hinge
Side by side
This is the part you have to transfer from the old one to the new one
Dirty doors make me sad
Better
