which side? it's been a while but the driver's side is easiest to remove if you yank the entire plastic piece it's attached to out, should be 4 or 5 torx 20's. Don't remember passenger side off the top of my head but it's likely the same thing.

x2.

The first time I tried to get the bulb housings out it was tricky. The way they snap in makes it tough to get a trim removal tool at the right spot to pop them out. If you jsut remove the whole plastic piece they snap into, you can pop them out much easier.

footwell / glove box light removal and lamp replacement

As others have said, at the same time release all of the four tabs holding the lens to the reflector and pull straight off.

The footwell lights and the glove box light are the same fixture,
and remove in the same manner. imply insert a trim stick on the side oppoite the connector,
identified by a small notch in the lens where you insert the tool,
and pry to free.

Don't the 42DD ones go out in the footwell?

They will unless you add more load to defeat the lamp out sensing on that circuit.
I added a resistor to avoid that issue.

Anyone know of a DIY for adding a resistor onto the line? I'm not that great at wiring and such...thanks!

8,000°K halogen incandescent wedge bulbs

Jet Turbo-where did you get those blue incandescents??

Best link to use is this one -> Hid lights USA - wedge bulbs
Note they are incorrectly listed under LED - the
first three listings on that page are not LEDs - they are halogen incandescent.
They do run a little hotter than stock,
had some minor melting in the front map light reflectors.

Link takes you to the page showing a couple of interesting choices.
I tried the 4,300°K in city lights and 8,000°K in the interior.
They were ok, dimmer than stock, and warmer more full spectrum than the interior LEDs I'm using now.
Just one of the 8k bulbs in the center of the back fixture
should cure the glow when off, but it will never match LEDs, just get closer.

some comparison shots
BTW stock is the brightest of the three,
I forget to sit the white reflective card in the glove box for the first shot
