Hi,

Anyone have this head unit and is it any good? Its called the Knight Rider. here are the specs, Mine is on order and awaiting delivery. Looked good so i grabbed it.

Sorry been busy....

The original one i ordered called "Knight rider" is no more manufactured according to the website i purshaced it from. However they have kept in contact and tried to get me the most similar head unit. This one is called the "Road Elite" comes with the CANBUS module aswell and still has the 8 inch display i was so looking forward to.

Item has been shipped and i should recieve it today as per DHL. Will only get to install it over the weekend, but will be sure to post the results. Here are the specs of the new one shipped.

oooookkk, so i couldn't wait and installed this player last night. Installation was a breeze.
Not thouroughly satisfied with it, however never really play with it all that much.

Basically has its own interface for Music, DVD, SD Card player, Bluetooth etc. and then has the normal android software at the touch of a button, pretty much like my Acer tablet.

The sound quality is good, DVD player is quite clear and smooth. Touch screen not so sensitive (which i did not like)..... maybe theres a setting somewhere.

Phone works awesome with bluetooth, very crisp and the person on the other end can hear you fine. It pulls the contacts up from phonebook etc...etc..

My car doesn't have Steering wheel controls, but i'm guessing it will work just fine cause driving to work this morning i switched the MFD to AUDIO and my UP/DOWN buttons for MFD became the SKIP TRACK buttons.....AWESOME! so although i dont have steering wheel controls i can now change the track playing where as with the RCD300 i couldn't.

So overall, if i had to give it a rating out of 10 i think 6.5 would be fair.

Well, i'd say a better looking inteface apart from the Andriod system. It has its music player, SD card player, cd player and radio which needs some GUI work. Other than that the Andriod OS players are pretty neat.

Other features i like;
Need to buy a reverse cam now cause even with the player switched off, it will power on and go straight to Reverse Cam and switches off again when going forward.

Offline Maps using GPS nav works great. (6 feet accuracy)

Bluetooth phone support, calls up contacts from the phone. (a bit slow though)
Bluetooth Music player works great.

Can Bus integration allows the MFD buttons to skip track and shows track on MFD (so steering wheel controls should work).

Has tons of aux outputs.

It came with a wifi dongle which works well.
