This was added into the MT6505/WD6050 only thread so Ive started a new one for this inc car VW 2 din module.

Similar to WD6050/MT6505 but has updated improvements, 128Mb gps, 8" screen etc etc.
Works for mkIV Golf etc too

I have now fitted mine, pix to come.
1st impressions, that 8" high def screen:eyebulge:

Pix below taken on my phone. I real life a lot sharper like the pix on web page above.

By the way, regardless the problem I had with my GPS board, despite no one tried to help me but bazzle and petrutms, I will upload you the GPS firmware that Maisun sent me some months ago, in case you need it. Remember, it's Nowada N117 GPS Board. Keep the files safe in case you need it! And don't flash them if you don't need to.

I've been looking at this one also, in case I sell my 09 Jetta TDI with the AS7608 unit in it.

Would be even nicer to have an 8" screen in the 11 Jetta.

I fitted one for a member in his mkV last week, very impressed.

Thanks for the link Bazzle, I'm considering getting something newer as I'm starting to encounter a problem with my W6050 (usually defaults to black screen in nav mode or nav mode freezes during navigation).
The A$ - USD rate at the moment makes something like this very attractive so it's now on my shortlist.
Couple of quick questions for you, when you installed it in the MkV was it fully functional as per the pics? Also, was there any coding required or was it 100% plug and play?

Don't you think we have enough distractions while driving and now we can watch a dvd the same time as our nav is working?

The test was just to show the powerful processor of device and the ability to run in parallel with dvd without any problem :wink:

100% plug and play.
I didnt run thru all the functions but it seemed ok at the time.

Second this, iPod interface has been the deal breaker for me with these types of units.

As for the Ipod interface... go to Witson.com and look up the Unit.
There is a user manual, in that there is one screen shoot of the ipod interface...
Well it is not really in interface but a slightly prettier file explore to access the song.
Nothing with Album art or any of the fancy stuff. It just displays the song name and Artist.

I am hoping someone can will do a full review of the unit including ipod / usb music play back and maybe answer some of the questions i have.
For example:
1. Can you actually use any of the physical buttons to change song while in Satnav mode or do you have to use the PIP fuction to change songs.
2. Can you use PIP fuction while displaying the OPS information and reverse camera at the same time?
....

I am sure other ppl will have other questions that needs anwsering as well before even considing making a purchase.

I find it more amazing that this unit all of a sudden is being offered by every Chinese manufacurer that does VW units.

It's like there's one R&D factory supplying them all.
