Dyno after K04 upgrade

Hi All,

We bought a 2006 GTI 6 speed manual to have as a street car with occasional track fun days maybe once a month.
We had a stage 1 tune done with no mods to begin with and drove nice compared to stock.

Recently installed a new K04 with manifold designed for Audi S3 and all these other bits we imported from the USA.
In total the parts and servicing we have done on the car are well beyond what we paid for the whole car.

Europaparts
*DIVERTER VALVE (2.0T, UPDATED "D" VERSION)
SKU: 000128 1 $62.95

ULTIMATE IGNITION KIT (2.0T)
SKU: 001647-000956-000602 1 $133.80
*4 x Ignition Coil Pack (Revision E, Red) $95.80
*4 x Spark Plug (Performance, NGK) $38.00

*FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT KIT (2.0T FSI, HIGH-PRESSURE)
SKU: 004549-004546-004199-000717 1 $314.85
High Pressure Fuel Pump
*1 x Fuel Pump (2.0T FSI, Latest Revision, Hitachi) $264.95
*1 x Fuel Pump Cam Follower (2.0T, INA) $24.95

*TURBOCHARGER (EURO AUDI S3 K04, W/MANIFOLD)
SKU: 002069 1 $1,499.95

*MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR (MAF, 2.0T)
SKU: 002150 1 $129.95

*Golf R Fuel Injector - Set Of Four

*DV relocator job done moving the DV to the front of the engine
*Cold Air Intake (which seems futile as it runs over top of the turbo and pipe gets hot as hell)
*Coilover adjustable suspension
*Nurburgring 18" wheels
*Miltek catless 3" stainless turbo back exhaust
*Short shifter kit

Our tuner played around with it yesterday however they don't have a dyno so I assume road test and tweak with their laptop and tools etc.

Went to another company to dyno today and they did one run and wouldnt do another as the car was running so lean they said its dangerous.
Other comments were it is hitting way too much boost.
Hitting peak power at 4500rpm (tuner did this to plan as said holding power longer will overly stress the high mileage engine)
running rich as power tapers off.

Attached sheet for commentary
Readings are at front wheels
Pen lines on AF are where he said the reading should look

When you actually drive the car with ESP off it spins under power right through 1st and 2nd gear and into 3rd.
We did a drive last night on the motorway and doing 80kph in 4th then hitting boost it lost traction in 4th which seems insane.
Dyno guy who is a jap specialist 600+hp Nissans and Mitsubishi's etc
was very disapproving of the tune and results hence his single run before stopping.

You need an upgraded hpfp.

This, an upgraded fuel pump is needed. KMD, Autotech, and Integrated Engineering sell internals (Plunger and seals). APR as well as Integrated Engineering sell complete pumps.

I'm not sure if my conversion to freedom units is correct but 382whp/357wtq seems too good to be safe without a fuel pump. What octane fuel is available in NZ?

lol he has 250 whp, not that crazy.

What IS crazy is the 350 ft lb of torque with near stoich AFR, damn! Get a better tune and HPFP.

It's not clear from your parts list if you have an upgraded pump or not. Maybe that's what the "fuel pump replacement kit" is if that's separate from the new oe pump.

Also look into getting a better tuner.

Do we just need the internals? And does this mean we remove the one we have installed and simply put the internals from say Integrated Engineering in the pump and put it back in?
No other modifications needed?

We have 95 and 98 octane here.

The tuner is widely respected and experienced tuner and although he no longer has a dyno I have faith in his work and believe its more related to the car than what hes doing or not doing.

That is correct. The internals allow the pump to provide higher pressure and flow. Your tuner can request more fuel from the pump after the upgrade. You'll likely need to check the follower every 5000-10000 miles after the upgrade too. When the tune requests higher fuel pressure, it wears faster.

In addition to these parts, there is an upgraded pressure release valve that allows higher sustained pressure too. It's from the RS4. If your tuner wants more fuel, above the pump upgrade, this is an option. http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_RS4--V8/ES284889/ http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185128&highlight=fsi+prv and http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174241&highlight=rs4+prv

Thanks
What should our whp be roughly with these mods and tune?
It's really nuts to drive and feels completely different to what that dyno indicates hp wise.

I was told the "safe limit" was 300ft-lb below 3K RPM and no more than 350lb-ft on stock BPY connecting rods.

With a good tune I think 310-320whp is a good target for a K04.
