Only the MK6 had the Dynaudio, btw
And to truly swap it all in (in a MK6 anyways)....you gotta swap over the whole harness & the components
Don't know if it'd swap in directly into a MK5

Yeah you'd be better off just buying aftermarket components
I'd say start with a headunit
We added one to a buddy's GTI and I was blown away at how much better the stock speakers sounded with some wattage (just from the HU) going to them.
It was a nite & day difference
Then we added a little Alpine 8" sealed or ported (can't remember) sub box & an amp....sounded AMAZING
