That's because Toyobarus are awesome. I'd rather drive my BRZ than a GTI anyday...the only way I'd go back to VW is for a two-door R variant.

I would buy a 4-door TDi MK7. But other than the R wagon variant I'm not so interested in the car. I know it's good though, it's gotten good reviews.

Gf has the mk7 gti and i've got the penismobile.

Honestly, the level of refinement on the mk7 when you figure the starting prices on each car are similar (frs vs base gti) and scale similar (brz limited vs gti se or higher) its not even comparable, the mk7 gti is such a better car when looking at it from a strictly dd focus, especially since it has well above 5 torks.


expanding the scope though gti doesn't touch the actual fun of a rwd where the only feature you are paying for is handling.
