^ Are you trolling or just uninformed? Going by time slips, and not just a lot of fanboy chest thumping, you will see that there are plenty of modded GTI's that can beat some of the cars that you list, just like there are plenty of modded clapped out 98 Camaros (Cameros, lol) that can beat up on stock or lightly modded GTIs. It all comes down to the mods on those cars. Yes, the FWDLOL aspect of the GTI blows, but it certainly has a lot of mod potential. Forget generalizations and just go by the numbers: a 12.8 second modded GTI is just as fast as a 12.8 second Mustang. A car is only as fast or as slow as its timeslip says it is, and all the cars you've listed have the potential to run hard as hell, or be dog slow.

Incidentally, my GTI and most forum members' GTIs will crush a shitbag $2000 Camaro anywhere except from a dig.

i ran a 14.7 in a 1.8t bone stock, and I've seen 2.0Ts do a 14.4 stock with a lot higher trap speed.

In the 1/8th mile? 1.8T stocker doing 14.7? I gotta call bullshit.

It's not that far fetched. I ran a heavier stock Chevy Beretta gtz with the quad 4, 15.0 flat.
The 1.8t is no slouch.

14.7 is pretty quick though. This site says 15.0 so maybe it's possible. This site also says my car is 14.3 stock. Didn't realize that.
