Thanks raab, I replaced the coil packs as one of my first troubleshooting things and it didn't help. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Just noticed a post you made in a VC replacement thread about having misfires.

My K04 GTI had some nasty misfire problems that turned out to be a bad coil pack. I replaced all of them just to be safe and haven't had a single misfire since.
