Shift Boot "O" ring broke.. Need a solution.

So while replacing the shift boot on my car the plastic "O" ring (IDK whats it's called) broke. I've been looking for a new one so I can finish this little project but I'm having no luck.. any body know what this piece is called or, more importantly, where I can find one?!?!

To be a little more specific.. It's the part that holds down the shift boot.. the one the damn thing is stapled to.. so frustrated right now.. SMH..

You're talking about the metal ring that holds the boot up top?

You can get the crimp rings from any hardware store, they keep them in the plumbing section:

I'm talking about the bottom of the shift boot where it is stapled into the a Plastic clip that holds it down.. On the picture above you can see staples on the clip I'm talking about on the "Golf Ball" boot.

I do not find a part number for that part, find it used maybe.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking.. Our parts department couldn't find one either, looks like VW doesn't sell that piece on its own. Guess I'll hit up a junk yard, shouldn't be that hard too find I suppose. Thanks guys! lol
