Replacing motor concerns

hi. i need some help/ advice.

so i have a 2008 gti with the cbfa tsi engine. recently, my car jumped time due to a bad timing chain tensioner (it was my first vw so i didnt know this was a common problem or else i wouldve replaced it). it bent my valves and damaged my head. im trying to fix the car and ive been looking for a replacement head. i found one that was a ccta head (that was before i knew it was a cbfa) so that wouldnt work. i then found a 2013 gti with the cbfa tsi and is selling the whole engine. im thinking about buying the engine and swapping it but i dont know how different that engine is from mine so idk if itll work. my other option is to get the head resurfaced and redone but idk how reliable that would be.

If you have any advice please leave a comment cause i could really use your help but please dont tell me to scrap it or anything like that. that option is also on the table im just trying to learn a bit about repairing the car instead of selling it cause obviously i would rather keep it.

A CBFA TSI is a CBFA TSI....there's no difference & it would be a direct swap
