post count or no post count... i think if we knew something stupid was being said, the good people would jump in.
im going to have to agree with alf, for any of us who have been here for more than a year, we have pretty much disected this car and for the most part have covered most of the known parts/products out for the car. untill something new comes out or someone does something that no ones has done yet, this forum just repeats its self.
i wouldnt go crazy on the people who goof off on the OT forums yeah some of its out of hand with all the porn and all of the random crap, i would just say to each its own if someone is in ot goofing off then just dont open some of the threads name "humping elephants crew" do you really think that is something the people complaining about OT is going to want to read..... no, so dont read it and you wont have a problem with it. im not defending it but there is an easy solution anything that isnt OT needs to be Modded in more detail ,when the thread goes off topic it needs to be brought back on it. and for those of you who dont like the OT stay out of it and it wont annoy you, as for me some of the OT stuff entertains me so i join in but like i said to each his own.

yea basicly nothing new has come out for our car sinse ive owned it, you can get a chip, intake, tbe, fmic, and some pulleys. even as far as cosmetic mods go, i havent seen much come out. im sure eventually some companys will jump in with a whole lot more parts eventually. but untill theres the demand, it wont happen. but our cars have only been out for about a year or so in the states, i guess just give it some time...

Well, i have owned several VW's and have been apart of the VWVortex community since the late 90's. I strayed from the Vortex because everything is taken sooo seriously and GolfMKV was a nice change of pace. I too know alot about the MKV GTI but, im sure i don't know everything. So, i come here and look for tips, advise, and helpful knowledge. Most everything about the MKV can be found here or the Vortex via search or in current posts.
But at the same time this is a "community". I have made several new friends and enjoy the off-topic lounge. Sure it get's out of control at times but, it's a good place to catch a laugh and meet new people and not have to be soooo concerned about the latest intake or the best sounding exhaust. If you are so upset about the content of the off-topic forum.....it's simple....don't go there.
I have been here for less then a month and "ranked" up over 500 posts. Some answering questions, some asking questions, but mostly learning and meeting fellow owners who i hope to meet someday at GTG's or bigger venues like Waterfest and H20.
Also, who ever brought up respect.....c'mon it's a forum not Fast and the Furious....please.
