Putty is good but so was the last Camden run. I"m happy with either but it might be nice to do something different and plan for a Camden run in another month or so after this one.
I know a few people didn't come on the Camden run because of 'road quality' but it was their loss - the roads were fine even in the RS running rubber bands. No chips, no rim damage... but damn good company and a great run. Weather could have been nicer but meh - it fined up in the arvo and the roads were a nice empty treat. Finishing at the Dam was a real highlight!
Unlike a lot of people, i know Benough actually does a reccy on the roads before heading into the wilderness. I'll certainly be doing it prior to the Valley run as around the Glouster area's, road conditions can change quickly after weather. Best to look a week or so before to make sure everything will be OK.
