Manifold Cracked???

So recently I started to notice I was getting an exhaust leak. I could hear my turbo a lot more just under normal acceleration almost like I was running open dp. I have full APR exhaust and what I figured was happening was the flex pipe on the dp was rubbing up against the heat shield because some other people were having that same issue with their APR exhaust. Well....I just brought my car in this morning to a "exhaust specialist" to have it checked out and what he told me was that my manifold is cracked!!! How in the fuck could this happen? I'm not even at 36k miles!

I will be calling to make an appointment at the stealership but won't be able to bring the car in until next weekend. I'm praying to god they're gonna be cool about it and cover it under warranty.

Has there been any other cases of this happening?

Oh and I'm still seeing 20lbs of boost...

I took it to what used to be a Muffler Man off of Nova in Port Orange.

It'll continue cracking.

and thats apparently what is happening right now cuz since i started noticing the noise its only been getting louder and louder..

Maybe you would get lucky with a warranty fix... but I doubt it :frown:

Can you put the stock exhaust back on? Probably will help considerably.

x2 on putting the stock exhaust back on. In fact, I would put her completely back to stock before taking it in. I'd even pull the boost gauge out.

I doubt they'll cover it even if you do, but hey if they don't its a great excuse for a K04...

Find a used k03 on vortex if the dealer doesn't want to cover it.

The dealer i go to is pretty cool about having mods so I dont think its going to matter if I put it back to stock or not.

When they guy showed me where it was he didn't point to a specific area he just pointed to the manifold. This guy seemed a little loony but he was using that stethoscope looking device so I cant see how he would be wrong about where the leak was coming from. But I am taking it somewhere else first to make sure before I do bring it to the dealer..

Good luck getting anything within like 10 ft of your turbo replaced under warranty, even if you are stock haha

normally you'd be correct but in our application the manifold and turbine housing are a single cast
