one of my lights were off, and to my surprise when I took the unit out of the bumper the connector is gone, it must have dropped somewhere or something but I can't find it. and I don't know how to retrieve it, can someone help me on how to find it? Thanks.

Had the same thing happen to my pyspeed license plate lights when I had my gti. Your probably going to have to remove the rear bumper to get it out.

Dropped mine in when changing fixtures once (won't make that mistake again).

When I retrieved my errant license light connector, I removed all the T20 Torx holding the bumper,
slid the bumper out about two inches and it was easy to retrieve, pushed it back through the opening
and pushed the bumper back in place. Never really "removed" the bumper per se.
Took about 5 minutes.

=( IDK how to take the bumper out, it's such a bitch this small little issue. Ugh.
I tried to avoid it for a while, was surprised how easy it was when I finally did it.

Time to break out the ole wire clothes hanger and fish that sucker out.
Tried that on mine, spent hours trying to fish it out with no luck.
And blindly pulling on things inside the bumper,
you run the risk of grabbing the other license light wires and damaging them.
