How is the sportline not progressive? I also have that spring, and they are definately progressive design. It made even more obvious as you lower the car from the jack as some of the coils are compressed moreso than others.

I did not know you could buy linear aftermarket springs for the gti (short of buying coilovers)

I was looking at those too. I believe I'm going to go with K-Sport especially with the ability to get custom rates from them (so I've heard) and swap the rears to around 300lbs.

I also had a set of pro-kit in hand. the front looks like linear, but the rear is definitely progressive.

Eibach claims they're progressive, but in fact they're not.

I had some Eibach Sportline and pro in my own hands and it's clearly
obvious they're linear.
It's just marketing because most noobs think progressive means better.
Eibach Pro and Sportline are linear rated like the Eibach made DG springs.

There are two versions, NA & Euro Eibach

NA Eibach are progressive

Euro Eibach are linear

I have this comparison for different euro Eibach springs across VAG A5 Chassis, I've done this by comparing the TUV certificates on the euro site

*All euro Eibach springs are linear
*Max Recommended Kg has nothing to do with the actual spring rate
*The below info means nothing  if you cant order springs individually

	1005kg 249mm 11-15-009-01-VA

OP...

Get:
-Koni Sports (yellows)
-Ground Control sleeves (threaded with perches)
-Hyperco linear rate springs (350front 250 rear--- is a real good start)

Cheap, awesome, interchangeable, adjustable.

Given no more DD usage I'd cross over from
For a Mk5 GTI, start with 350f/250r and work from there.

-Hyperco linear rate springs (350front 250 rear--- is a real good start)

Are you sure? you should consider the concept of motion ratio...
On the PQ35-36 platform it is 0.65, so assuming that it is 1 in the front (actually more realistically 0.97-0.98), with these spring rates it would be like having 350 f - 162.5 r

You should consider the concept of sway bars and weight distribution chief.

What is 162.5/350

What is the weight distribution for the MKV GTI?

If you really want to do this... you better suit up.

btw do you know the spring rates for them? are they stiffer then DG springs?

Sadly not, but from what I remember there's a thread with spring rates on this forum.
(guess they might be in the 30 N/mm area)

There's always some slight ''progressiveness'' in a linear spring. But I only know the Euro-specs that look like these:

There are two versions, NA & Euro Eibach

NA Eibach are progressive

Euro Eibach are linear

Thank you. Quite interesting.
