Hatch gas struts OUT after 56k???

What do you do this for?

At the end of the day I am removing an item I will be putting back in the morning.
As the car is sitting in a locked garage, it is easier with my hands full to just leave it open
for when I return the item to the trunk before departing the next day.
The trunk light times out in 30 minutes or so.

Mine has been garaged the whole time I've owned at work and at home and I've gone through my hatch shocks twice now. Just got my 3rd set on the other day under warranty of course lol.

Could this be a running change in the component,
possibly my old 2006 and your newer 2008 have different revisons of the part? :iono:

Not sure, I think it's just a matter of some last longer than others. Unlike the cam follower which is a design flaw on every vehicle.
