Been neglecting the GTI recently in that I haven't taken it for a proper drive for ages. Done <1000k's in the last 4 months and mainly been washing, waxing and looking at it instead. Too many stones flying around for my liking (and too few corners to really enjoy it).

Took it out for a blast around its new home in Griffith and took a few shots along the way.

Thought I'd share. Please excuse the ugly bra

Started with an appreciation of the detail work (one week's worth of dust sitting on it) and a bit of playing around with the polarising filter which I just discovered today works a treat for showing off your paintwork too.

Filter Off / Filter On

Twisting the filter gives reflection or makes it look flat.

This is pretty much all I've got to play with out here...

Spot of tennis? This was just put up this weekend in Barellan.

Occupied myself last week by painting the badge - plasti-dip.
Looks ok from a few paces, but up close the finish is poor. Good for a reversible mod. They only had white spray so the outer bit has satin black spray paint over the white plasti-dip spray.

My new house. Pretty sweet crib I think you'll agree.

Messing about twisting the filter again.

Nearly hit this little guy - thought he was a piece of wood in the road. Anyone know what kind it is?

Just got to get some boots for these badboys now and we're getting there.
Thinking of getting them sprayed / powdercoated gunmetal first - thoughts?

Nice pics TG.20T. I have to say that I have seen your car around Sydney more than a few times. Do you drive around the lower North Shore by any chance?

Was about to say the same. Looks strangely familiar.

The house is a true "renovator's delight"!

Nice shots TG, polarising filter works a treat. :w00t:

I personally love the contrast of silver wheels on a black car, but gunmetal would look great too.

Cheers guys. Really enjoyed the detail, drive & photos.

Lived in dbl bay and didn't go over to north shore much but would have been there from time to time. Itching to drive it back that way for some twisty roads - the straights are killing me out here!

Nice pics, looks like a great day to get out for a drive.

I'd leave the Audi rims silver and see how you them, can always repaint them later but i agree some contrast looks nice (gun metal would look tough but look more aftermarket).

Eastern or common brown snake. One of the top 5 deadliest land snakes. I had one under my bin last month.

SO much so and went and got the camera:bellyroll: - it didn't like the flash! Only concerned for the kids who were pointing and getting a little too close (~3m) for comfort. Was a tiddler, about 2-3ft.
