any rust or corrosion on these tips so far ? we have extreme weather here and we have salt on the road in winter.

OP here, none on mine but I live in the Bay Area in CA. That being said, we've had three very rainy rainy seasons since I got mine installed and no rust that I've seen.

Some slight pitting occurred on the inside of mine over the winter. A good cleaning and metal polish brought them back.

seems it is good enough.
I used to have similar tips which claimed stainless steel (maybe low grade), it became brownish/rust all outside after one winter .
