how can I remove this red piece without damaging the grill??


Is it plastic red or metal??

plastic, it's clipped on, go slowly, it helps if you remove the grille first.

^ This, be very carefully it will break easy just take your time. If you break it your pretty much screwed and will not find a replacement easily.

Remove the top grill. Find something skinny (like a flathead or pry tool) and separate the black clip from the red and push it out slowly.
I did this when it was below freezing out and it was so cold and brittle it broke into four pieces :frown:
Just go slow and be patient.

Is there anywhere that sells just that stripe? My red has faded pretty bad and I don't wanna have to PD it from now on to keep its color...

No unless someone is selling one in the classifieds which is rare.

Just some pointers , when i painted my grill stripe i actually started from the center and worked my way outwards
I used an ice pick my pops had lying around in his garage to help push them out. Actually they are in there really good

Be careful putting them back in cause you can break the tabs that way to..i got lucky and only broke two Lol
