Our latest stage 1 revisions have the torque limits completely removed. We can also add the ability to remove manual kick down into a stage 1 (most revisions have two file versions on our server). Other than custom launch and shift limiters, we haven't really had a need to release stage 2 as our stage 1 includes everything else.
