replaces the stock PCV which is prone to failure. If you have the 2008.5+ (tsi, CCTA engine) then you need not worry about it

Replaces the OEM PCV (just the hose that connects from intake manifold to the actual PCV)

If your stock one is blown, this is a good replacement part. It's bulletproof.
