How much drag, if any, do these create? Any noticeable wind noise? Change in highway gas a mileage?

I have the votex rack on my gti and I noticed a 1-2 mpg loss, but I drive about 75-90mph on the highway.

With the sunroof open it makes some weird noises above 40mph. Sunroof closed and there's a teeny bit of extra wind noise but it's not annoying or too intrusive.

I bet a fairing would make those minor issues go away. I love the way the votex rack looks and fits, so I don't mind the minor downsides.

They clamp on, and have rubber pads to protect the paint. Nothing permanent.
