Floppy Glovebox Need Help!!!!!!

A couple of days ago I reached fo the glove box, the thing came down pretty fast compared with before, actually went clump!

Before the glove box used to come down in a stiff damping motion. The other day I was looking in the passenger footwell and I found this:

I was wondering if it has anything to do with the glove box coming down? If it is connected to something, anybody have a schematic to show where it belongs so I can fix it?

take it too your dealer and get them to sort that out.

It looks like the gear which is connected to the toque limiter that gives it the slow action.

Darn I absolutely hate going to the stealers, I was hoping I could DIY this.

That gear is unrelated and a spare part that was left in the dash.

Vagcom it as it must have lost it's settings. Controller 69 - Glovebox opening module is what you need to re-enable.
