More than the odd Golf GTI has seen race-track duty on weekends. Check the tyres for signs of scrubbing and hard use.

One remark in the review has me confused.

"and the GTI can feel a bit like a very fast bathtub from inside."

As Pauline Hanson would say.......please explain?

I can only assume that they are referring to the fact that the interior is quite spacious and the windscreen can feel a bit far away..:iono:

Insurance will be the killer for many would-be owners.

Is it really? If you are looking for hot hatch I didn't think it was that bad!

Not everybody likes the deep grille treatment as it gives the car a slightly front-heavy look.

Are you kidding??? It's part of the reason WHY people like the looks!

Servicing needs to be done properly and regularly.

Since when could you get away with it in a turbo hot hatch???

They really had to dig deep to get some negatives it seems.

Avoid a car that's been modified. A bigger exhaust tip isn't a real worry, but radically modified suspensions or hotter engines can mean compromised performance and longevity.

This might apply for your typical teenage JDM rice machine, but i don't think there are many euro modders who do mods just for the hell of it (can be corrected here). Longevity might be a given for engine mods, but performance?? Maybe they meant ride?

More than the odd Golf GTI has seen race-track duty on weekends. Check the tyres for signs of scrubbing and hard use.

Would anyone leave worn out track tires on the car to sell with???
