I met a guy once who did up his Corvette in a Spiderman theme for car shows. He went all out with paint, custom engine and under air brush hood paintings, new fabric and speaker grilles,and it looked great. Kids at car shows loved it, so mission accomplished. If somebody were to do this with their GTI, these brake discs would be hands down the ones to get. Otherwise, probably not.

Those will definitely de-glaze your pads...more like cut big grooves in them and make them wear out in a couple days. Good lord. I've never seen anything so stupid.
