Diagnose a faulty TPMS sensor with VAG-COM?

I think I might have a TPMS sensor going bad. Is there a way to figure out which one with VAG-COM?

Nope. The system used in our cars doesn't know which sensor is which.

For real fun, throw some more TPMS sensors in the glovebox and drive around, it'll throw "implausible signal" codes!

Okay, so is there any tool or tester I can use to communicate with a single sensor to find out which one is going bad?

I periodically get the tire pressure light either blinking or on solid but it's a crap shoot every time I get in the car if it is on or not.

I will check my bentley when I get home. I vaguely recall that the convenience module (tpms on our cars uses the same radio as the key fobs) only knows the serial numbers of the sensors and whether one is reporting low pressure.

By manually airing down one tire at a time and looking at something in vcds you can figure out which sensor is in which tire.

And then when it is throwing an error maybe you can figure it out.
