I made my appointment for Friday to get the APR reflash/Ghost flash and the Carbonio intake. With the intake tuned to my ecu, how much horsepower will I be pushing?
Bad hare said:x2 - intakes don't do anything on turbo cars. ( very minimal) not worth the money. put that towards a turbo back exhaust.
Wild Hare said:^^^ Not drastic enough to justify the cost. 8-10HP if that and most tests done with CAI in the past on VW's /Audi's done have not proven themsleves worthy vs a drop in aftermarket filter element in the stock airbox configuration.
More Bling than gain honestly!
redGTI said:From my experience with my MK4 1.8t, a K&N (or other high-flow) filter will more than duplicate the best performing "cold air" intake. The reason for this is that regardless of where you draw the air in, when it gets to the turbo it gets very HOT. So your money would be better spent cooling the air after it leaves the turbo and before it goes into the engine. The stock intercooler is very efficient for this with the stock turbo configuration. When the BIG turbo kits come out, the cars will benefit from better (more) intercooler due to the higher volume of air being pumped into the engine. So having said all that your cold air intake money is better served going into an exhaust kit...
