Car runs sluggish,has ESP & EPC light& P0222 code (Angle Sensor (G188):Signal too low
I have a 2007 GTI 2.0T with a chip and while driving, the ESP & EPC lights came on, when i scanned with vag-com, it showed P0222. the car seemed a little sluggish. I cleared the codes with vag-com, but they came right back on. So, i took off the engine cover, and checked the coils, they seemed firmly in place. I looked at the throttle body wiring, it seemed okay, but i took off the harness and reconnected it, then scanned and cleared codes, and the code went away for now, but i'm assuming it will come back sooner or later.
I'm guessing I need the 2018652/2 mentioned here, but I am open to what you guys think:

but my question is, how difficult is it to do the repair? My car is out of warranty. Arin in his post above mentioned "optimizing wiring", what exactly is involved, if it's not that difficult, i'd rather do it myself. Even if the dealership covered it under warranty, last time i brought my car into the dealership which claimed to be chip friendly, they basically said they won't do any engine related work without me reflashing it to stock. I called my local chip dealer (I did not buy the chip from them) and they said it'd cost $100 to flash to stock, and $100 to reflash again. They asked why take it to the dealership, take it to them instead. I said it's under warranty (it was at the time - they seemed shocked that a 2007 GTI is still under the 5 year powertrain warranty). I'd rather not take this to an indy either, as they might have a hard time diagnosing it.
Anyone have any suggestions or input?
