This car will be my play toy. GTI will stay in the family. We have the required soccer-mom Honda Odyssey and an 04 Wrangler for getting dirty.

Found this...and it's local! Not a GNX but under budget.

That thing is badass! I'd feel weird driving it much though.

I'd say go with a 911, 1M, Corvette, Shelby... Audi sedans are pretty damn boring in comparison to some of the other things you're considering.

O snap, then 1m is definitely a winner then if its a fun car you are after. Will you track the car at all?

GNX is also a wonderful option, the original ones should be worth some cash too.

If you are really looking for an investment (which I don't think you are), look into a Ferrari 550 maronello. They are the last of the modern Ferraris with a v12 and a manual tranny. They have hit about bottom in terms of depreciation, and I am willing to bet they will start going up in value soon. You could buy one, put a few miles on it a year, and sell it for twice what you paid in 10 years, at a minimum.

Since you are keeping the gti and have a family car my vote is 1m. Second would be the Buick. Both cars are pretty much guaranteed to keep their value if not appreciate in value.

Since you have a GTI, Odessey and Wrangler, go for the 1M. Looks amazing and as others have said Guaranteed to hold value. You can prob get both GNX and 1M if you offer cash for $80k if you really want it..
