which type of DV is stock on a TSI?

Depends whether it's a revision D or not. You'll have to check for yourself, earlier TSI's didn't necessarily come with them.

^^That's where you'll find it. The last character of the part number (the top number on the side of the DV) will tell you the revision. Anything but a revision D is virtually useless.

Contrary to much conjecture, I've heard of even MkVI GTI's coming with Rev. G's, so odds are against you already having a Rev. D. Though some do, my `09 had a Rev. G... which all but blew apart.

When the tech got in there to check out a boost fault, it came out in two pieces.
