No idea, but anything is speculation at this point anyways. No one knows anything beyond what has been released about the MK6 platform. Last I heard there was a GTI-R or something like that?

The Passat R36 is a reality, but the OP is asking about a Golf platform version. Apparently that won't be a reality.

Golf R36 never happened due to cooling issues. It kept overheaing in testing.

Unless vw makes a bigger engine bay, we'll never see this.
With the stuff vw has been considering, it seems there will not be any sort of VR R after 08.
