I want a project car one day...Anyway, my sales guy is a subaru fanatic and told me he's heard whispers that if the new FXT sells well in the states it's possible we could see an STI Forester. I'm sure that would be a manual. The high torque CVT in the XT is alright but I still can't get use to the slingshot/rubberband feeling it has at low speeds in regular auto mode. The SI modes which simulate either a 6 or 8 speed auto are a little bit better but then mpg's suffer. And it already gets shitty gas mileage.
salesmen will say anything, from what i've read the fxt like mine sold like dogshit on the lots because the typical american buyer doesn't buy what the enthusiast wants. I wish it wasn't the case, but unfortunately it is. Far as i'm concerned a hatchback sti is as close as the us will probably ever see to a forester sti, despite it being available overseas.
Heard a lot of salesman horseshit about this car is fast, turbo next year, it'll get people that don't have penises to sleep with you, etc when i was shopping for frs/brz.
I've read good things about the 14' fxt for the most part, what kind of mpg are you getting? Supposed to be rated for high 20s hwy right?
The frs (fa20di) is only rated for 30 hwy on the manual, best i've seen from a full highway tank is 36.
