You have to just take the car to the dealership and have them clear the code.

The reason that the airbag light went off is because you disconnected the airbag light harness, from behind it.

I did the same thing the first time I installed the boost gauge on a VW. We just had the car go to the dealership, and they cleared the code/light right off.

Is that code something that can be cleared with VAG COM? The guys I'm going to get to install my gauge have one

I've read that a VAG COM can clear it. The code only appears if you disconnect it. You can actually remove the whole unit from the vent housing itself, with some slight effort. Sometimes they even just pop out.
