I started on one rim - It's taking me a lot longer than 4 hours just to sand down the inserts on a single rim. It's a bigger PITA than I thought to sand it

Anyone who did this, did you start off with 500 grit?

I'm using 400 grit, and I've gone through 3 sheets and I'm not even done the first rim. It's taking me a lot longer than 4 hours to sand it.

At this point, because the rims are curbed pretty bad, I'm just gonna rough it up, bondo some pits, and just paint it.

I have no idea how you sanded it down to the white base coat on all 4 rims by hand.
