Semting Headunit

Guys, is there any reason to get this unit over another Chinese unit? Does anyone know anything about the Windows CE/Samsung units (Ebay)? It seems there are quite a few different options out there, just hard to decipher which is better. Pretty sure I'll be getting one, just have to figure out what one that will be...

While service support is minimum, the person here selling the semting unit is gone. So you're prob better off getting one from audiosources.net. They're going for about $280 plus shipping.

When I needed to contact them when I had my unit for 2.5 years they always emailed back within 24 hours. Of course if it's when they have a few of their national holidays, the whole country shuts down for about 10 days at a time. The Chinese know how to party like it's 1999.

I have installed the backup camera to the vw-7088 recently,but the picture is showing up on and off with rolling up and down like crazy. Anybody has a clue to fix it ? Do I need to use vag-com to solve this annoy issue ?

I bought one of these units last April and the iPOD cable is now hosed....(the end that plugs into the iPOD wires came off of the PCB) - Anyone know where I can get a replacement cable or someone that has a broken unit and want to sell the cable to me? I can't find that damn cable anywhere

Can't thank you enough! Spent hours yesterday trying to get Primo 2 working and each time I got one part working, something else would cause it to crash!

This one worked first time, swapped my iGo 8 maps over and its sorted.

i scattered my way through the 89 pages and i understand that these units are a real hit or miss. i noticed some people state that if you purchase these units from a re-seller then there's really no chance to get your warranty concerns addressed. i also saw a number of links, but how do i purchase this unit directly from the manufacturer?

basically, i have the premium 7 unit in my gli, and i just lost my aux function. vag com shows a malfunction in my head unit so the dealer said the only remedy is to replace the entire unit.

i'd really prefer something similar to the mkv mfd2 unit, but i can't find any chinese knock offs of that... lol. i noticed that szenco site has a silver and gold unit. any info on all this stuff would be a huge help. thanks.

Seriously, you're gone since Nov 2011 and left people hanging with problem units and you come here expecting others to buy from you.

I also realize that you might have had some problems but you left people high and dry. Your explanation didn't help people who had problems with their units as your suggestion that people contact the factory and from what I was told ignored them because you were the reseller.

No, the Semting unit does not communicate positioning information to the CANBUS module, so you still need the original compass unit.
