Schmidt VN Lines 3 Piece Wheels

Guys,

I'm taking delivery of my Ink Blue 5 door GTI this afternoon. I've had the ABT ground effects kit installed, the 4 pipes, the chip (up to 230hp); now I'm shopping for wheels.

I got a set of Yokohama AD07s for an excellent deal, so I'm kind of wedded to 18" wheels. I REALLY dig the look of the Schmidt VN Lines 3 piece wheels on the Reiger kit (attached), so I'm doing my research on purchasing a set. The Schmidt site pretty much says they'll custom make them for me, so what I'm asking is, what offset will work? I'm looking at buying 18x8.5s; the VW dealer here says its safest to go with an ET of 50, but I like dish, so anyone who has any real knowledge or theory of fender clearance, look, etc, please share it with me. I'm itching to pull the trigger. The stock "blade" 17s are simply floating in a gaping wheel well right now, and my entire universe is out of balance because of it hehe.
