Quick Question about my new fog bulbs

I installed the Nokya Arctic white fog light bulbs today. As I was installing them i noticed it says 80W on the box.

I know the GTI requires 55W. But would this hurt my car or my fog lights in any way?

i would remove the rubber pieces from the fog light housings so the heat will dissipate faster and be less likely to warp the inside reflector. when i put an hid kit in my fogs and neglected to do so and mine warped a tiny bit.

They might run a little hot unless you get a harness to match the extra power you're pulling.

Alright I'll remove the housing then. Since the website i ordered it from let me search by car, it just ordered the ones it gave me. Not even paying attention to the wattage.

That's not a good thing. Should i keep the fogs then or just get new ones?
