Poor cold start vcds diagnosis?

Currently in the morning most of the time my gti is not starting as fluidly as it should it's taking a couple of extra cranks to get it going. Warm start not an issue

I have recently purchased a vcds and hope to solve the problem with the start issue?? What could it be? What should I be logging/viewing with the vcds at startup??? I have recently replaced the battery. Have also replaced the fuel pump so let's rule them out.

I also replaced my dv after a fault code came up and the car is running much better. original dv was way gone. I have also done a tba. What else is good to do with vcds?

On another note I cannot get the windows to wind down with the remote. All the boxes are ticked correctly but it's not doing it????

clean your MAF sensor, and check your coil packs and spark plugs!

Car has 100k km on it. How do I check the coil packs??? Changed plugs recently so won't be those... Will try the maf. From memory I should use a something like a contact cleaner so no residue will sit on the sensor????
