Just got my hands on a new water pump which has a fully cast aluminum housing, no plastic of any kind on this thing. As we know the flange that mates to the block itself is a trouble area on TSI motors, I thought I'd give this option a shot. Did the install with a buddy of mine who owns a shop, and the only thing we found was slightly longer hardware was needed for the two bolts by the temp sensor, as they do not use the traditional clip to hold in the sensor.
Otherwise the install was easy, and trouble free, and its working well for the time being. Doubtful I will see any performance increases, but I figured at 125K I'd do a water pump.
I'll see if I can get some photos up of it, but I just had my iphone replaced some it's been a bit difficult haha
