Interesting read this morning that Mountune who is more know for Ford applications are diving in to the VW scene. They will be offering packages on both the GTI and R respectively, just wanted to get your thoughts about this new addition info below.

M52 GOLF R STAGE 1 POWER UPGRADE
£995.83

The m52 Stage 1 upgrade delivers phenomenal performance for the Mk7 / 7.5 Golf R with either manual or DSG transmissions.

Based on over a decade of tuning vehicles to pass OEM sign-off, the m52 Stage 1 offers the highest quality calibration, providing improved drivability, response and of course, a substantial increase in both power and torque, all vigorously durability tested to provide peace of mind that reliability is maintained.

Power is increased to 360PS whilst torque is raised to 500Nm, which is enough to drop the 0-60mph sprint to a staggeringly quick 3.7secs (DSG with m52 TCU cal).

VW have created a fantastic platform, but it's only truly brought to life once the m52 Stage 1 calibration is installed. This is (easily) administered yourself via our mTune handset which, not only offers multiple calibrations, it also boasts enhanced vehicle functionality, can be used to monitor gauges via the OBD port and also includes a performance meter as well.

A return to stock option is included, together with a valet and anti-theft option, too.

The m52 Stage 1 is available in two versions to fully exploit both manual and DSG transmissions. The DSG version also includes a a fully optimised transmission calibration. This is programmed into the TCU (transmission control unit) by the mTune handset, which then allows it to maintain higher torque levels through the revised clutch pressure optimisation. Shifts are faster, giving harder and quicker acceleration through the gears, whatever level of performance your car has.

Whilst not essential, it is recommended to achieve and maintain the quoted power figures under hard use, an aftermarket induction system should be used, like the m52 X3, which the Stage 1 calibration has been fully optimised for.

Features:
Power increased to 360PS
Torque increased to 500Nm
Supplied as standard with Stage 1 calibration, return to stock, anti-theft and valet options
DSG version includes m52 TCU calibration fully optimised for DSG-equipped vehicles
Enhanced launch control
Easy DIY installation
In the box:

mTune handset complete with four calibrations; Stage 1, Stock, Valet, Anti-theft
TCU calibration (DSG models only)
Zip-up case with mTune mount, OBD and USB cables
m52 badge

WARRANTY INFO
All m52 products are supplied with a 12-month / 12,000 mile warranty (whichever occurs first) against manufacturing defects.

STAGE 1
The m52 Stage 1 calibration dramatically improves power and torque output across the entire rev-range; peak power is increased to 360PS, with torque raised to 500Nm. The m52 Stage 1 also features a host of additional features and functionality via the mTune handset, too.

For maximum performance the m52 Stage 1 should be used together with a high-flow intake.

Optimised to work with the m52 X3, the pressure drop achieved removing the OE induction setup yields further improvements in peak performance, throttle response and also enhances induction noise.

Please note: Stage 1 ECU support is currently available for Mk7 and Mk7.5 manual and Mk7 DSG models.

Power figures achieved using 99RON fuel (Stage 1 is safe to use with 95RON). Power output may vary based on individual vehicle condition, fuel quality and method of testing.

READY FOR TRANSMISSION
The m52 DSG TCU calibration works in harmony with the Stage 1 engine calibration to fully exploit the maximum available vehicle performance and engine torque output.

Our mTune handset allows you to easily reprogram the gearbox's calibration inside the TCU (Transmission Control Unit). This allows the transmission to maintain higher torque levels through the revised clutch pressure optimisation.

Shifts are faster, giving harder and quicker acceleration through the gears, whatever level of performance your car has.

The driving mode strategy itself is also optimised to suit higher power levels, giving a more coherent gear selection profile. Switch the controls over to manual and you'll have real gear control, quite literally at your fingertips - no automatic upshifts, no kick down until you decide you want it.

In addition, launch control will get you off the line quicker through allowing more boost at launch and increased launch RPM.

$1,300 for ECU+DSG? And the manual guys have to pay the same but don't get anything beyond ECU? Odd pricing structure.....

Their stuff is super cheap for Focus STs.

They do bolt on EFR 7163 kits for like $3k

Similar to ie coming out with a tune, what's the point now. There's already so many options and they all have near as makes no difference results
