I know there's a lengthy thread already about this topic, but I haven't found any answers to what I've been looking for.

Planning on perhaps retrofitting a Mk6 R wheel into my GTI. Mine is

- 2009 MY
- Full screen MFD
- MFSW

I've been reading that it's a direct plug and play for '08+ and I won't need a new steering wheel module or clock spring. Is this correct?

Also, what kind of VAGCOM coding would I need to get everything to work?

PS: I have a DSG GTI but the steering wheel is a 6sp. Besides not having paddles (I don't really use my existing ones anyways), would it make any difference?

You shouldn't need a clock spring, module is dependent on which one you have now, the CH revision works best. The vag-com part takes the majority of the time since you have to re-code the module to the car. There's a number of code combinations that can be used, unfortunately it turns into a trial and error type deal.
