Well they do bend and crack as easy as reps I find. I have a client and he only gets problems with his oz super lageras. For me.. I'd stay clear of ultra light weight wheels unless it is for the track. For spirited driving on the road I see problems in the future.

I say, just pay attention when you drive as you should and slow down or avoid any big potholes or bumps and you should be fine. Your tire will make a big difference too...they brand/type and if you are running with a lot of (dumb) stretch, probably not going to protect your wheel as much as a properly fitting tire will.

Roads in SoCal are horrible and I've rarely had an issue with bends unless I did something completely idiotic (once).

Also, forged wheels should be stronger than cast but some of that may be compromised for lower weight.

I've had my wheels for almost a year and all has been well. :iono:

I think my wheels are considered "Lightweight/Forged"

It's all up to chance and wheel design. Forged...cast...they all bend or break when hit with enough force and at just the right angle.

You can drive using a forged wheel on the street if you have the pockets deep enough to replace them.

All other variables the same, a forged wheel will be lighter and stronger than a cast wheel. But reason for buying the forged should be because of their lighter weight, not because you think they'll last longer.

The Neuspeed wheels with "e" in their name are not forged. It is only the original series from Neuspeed that's forged.

The best lightweight wheels for the money are going to be OZ Allegarita or TR Motorsport MT-1.

Enkei has several extremely light wheels for excellent price. RP-F1 and PF-01 are my faves. Not forged though.

The other thing worth mentioning is lighter wheels will let your suspension work more effectively/efficiently, which will also help protect your wheels and "soften" any bumps on them.

Lighter weight wheels have been the most noticable mod to me.
Steering and turn in are better, acceleration is better. I feel it.

So honestly, the above statement is bullshit.

Light wheels don't need to be forged neccessarily. There are tons
of affordable light wheels from ATS, BBS, OZ, Enkei and others.
I will most likely go for OZ Allegeritas next.
