IF chip added will dealer void warranrty

hello,
I am really thinking to get 17o hps for my rabbit.....some ppl suggest to get a giac chips for easy mod to gain 08 spec " horsepower"..........so if i go for the chip will the dealer void my warranty ? I have 7 year warranty plan with vw so i don't to push myself into the shit ! :wink:

All chips are detectable if they look hard enough.

With the Revo or the APR chip you can turn it on and off so you will be safe in that sense unless they dig real deep into the ECU.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Whenever you bring your car to the dealer just switch it off.

if u really concern about the warranty, DON'T do any
aftermarket mod to your car.... ONLY the OEM parts
that install by VW authorized shop can keep your
warranty.... :iono:
since u get your 07 Rabbit you keep asking 08 spec.....
the easiest way to keep factory warranty with 08 spec
(170hp) is sale your 07 Rabbit and then you buy a new
08 Rabbit lol.....:biggrin:
Most ppl buy 7 years warranty plan DON'T mod their car,
because they like their car very much...(they are planning
to keep their at least 7 years...) they enjoy the factory
set up...
if u are planning to mod your car when u purchase, NEVER
spend extra dollars for those extanded warranty or upgrade
package, it won't meet your WANTS....(we always like the
aftermarket supplements...:thumbup: ) ....so... u paid for a
lesson lol....
