So Ive never been quite sure what the difference between the micro and normal cables are. Would this be able to do all the vagcom tweaks (windows w/ key fob, drl off etc)

The micro-can is for "newer cars" as stated on ross-tech's website. It's not a limited feature cable and it will do everything you could possibly want to do with VCDS.

I have programmed my RNS 510, reprogramed the canbuds gateway to fix the battery drain, all the window reprogramming. Adding euro LED tail ights and adjusting the brigthtness... etc...
