Front wiper question

Hi guys,

i realised a funny thing on my Golf Gti, sometimes after driving when i turn off the engine, the front wipers move, if they move up or down i don't know because i can't see it, and it happens only every now and then....

is this normal, is there a stand by positions for the wipers, and if there is why does it happen only sometimes?

Mine does the same thing. I was very curious also but it seems like they move down when you start the car then they move up when you park it. It might have something to do with the position they move in to so if water runs down your windshield for any reason (rain or what have you) it is directed towards the openings of your hood to your water drain pan, then down the sides of your car.

its normal. they do that so the wiper isnt always sitting on the same edge. it does it so the wiper doesnt wear as fast on one edge.
