Dude..... Where's my car??

Hi All,

I ordered my Golf (1.9L TDI) almost 2 and a half months ago. I checked with the dealer last week and it is still at a status of "scheduled for production". How much longer do you think it would be untill I at least get a VIN?

I was origionally told the car would be a 4 month wait but now I'm not so sure.

I am also trying to confirm what has been changed on the 2007 spec Australian Golfs (not necessarily the GTI) but I have been waiting for over a week for the dealer to get back to me. I have done a quick search here but have come up empty.

Can anyone help with either??

I've read that date of production to the date of delivery is 4-6 weeks time, in which case I believe your car is on schedule?

The only '07 changes I can tell you relate to the GTI, I'm not sure if this affects the TDI? Also, I don't think all these changes necessarily relate to the Aussie market, e.g. we never got the monster truck ride height like the US.

2007 GTI
• Optional iPod adapter (I have seen this in a '07 model in the showroom)
• Audio auxiliary input added
• Simplified cruise control actuation
• Redesigned alloy wheels—late intro
• Launch Control will be standard (DSG only) (I think we already have this?)
• Premium Sound System will be optional
• Tire Pressure Monitoring System standard (I think we already have this?)
• Radio buttons from black to silver finish (I have seen this in a '07 model in the showroom)
• Reduced ride height for sportier appearance (N/A)
• Special model planned

I can say that you can get an ipod kit for any mkv, not only '07 model.

I think Australia already gets the premium sound system in prior mkv's too (model: RCD500)
